Bad Weather Arrangements
All kindergardens will close after the hoisting of the No. 3 Typhoon signal, or a Red/Black rain storm warning (Director of Education).
The David Exodus Kindergarten will be closed if:
- a storm warning No.3 or higher is in force or is announced,
- a Red or Black Rain warning is in force,
- the Director of Education announces that schools will close.
The Kindergarten will not operate an Afternoon session if it was closed during the Morning session.
If the Kindergarten closes after children have arrived then normal going home procedures by bus will apply. Children who are normally met by their parents will be kept at school until their parents arrive to collect them.
In the event of a Black Thunderstorm Warning being announced the children will be kept in the Kindergarten until it is safe for them to return home or they are collected by a parent or another nominated adult.
Parents should decide whether it is safe to send their children to Kindergarten in bad weather.
Parents should use their discretion in sending their children to Kindergarten if local weather, road or transport conditions have not returned to normal or the lowering of signals higher than No.1 or after a red or black rain warning has been cancelled. Please listen to radio and television announcements.
These measures are taken solely for the safety of your child.
